Paragraph 1 - Introduction: Make the reader aware of the topic that you will be discussing and your opinion.

Paragraph 2, 3, and 4 - Body of essay: Each paragraph should state a reason you are for or against the issue with at least 2 to 3 examples. For instance:
2 - Smoking creates a terrible smell especially at a place where you are going to enjoy dinner and relax.
3 - Smokers set a bad example for families with children dining in a restaruant.
4 - Second hand smoke and its dangers to restaurant and bar patrons.

Paragraph 5 - Restate your opinion and briefly restate the three reasons you are for/against this.

It is a severe health hazard and has the surgent general's warning, a ridiculous amount of people die from it every year, second hand smoking murders others who don't take up the habit. sure, they may lose a few customers at first, but they will eventually accept it and oblige to follow the rules. I know for a fact this is true because in California smoking is disallowed in many public places. It is up to one's self if he wants to cause harm to himself, but it should not endanger the lives of others. That's why the government is established, to protect people from harms. If smoking, a clear public health threat, isn't acknowledged as a threat, the government isn't properly doing its job.
