I procrastinated for 42 years. With the death of my parents and an impending divorce, I finally went back to school. A fear of failure had long since held me back, now with my back up against a wall, I had to do something. I look back now and see that I was afraid of succeeding because I wouldn't have known how to handle it. Now that I'm back in school and doing well, I still feel a sense of failure because I it had to take such tragedy to get me off my A** to do something. I win, but yet I lose.

I find myself sabotaging myself all the time... I guess it is because I do not want to get hurt like I did when i was younger, and if I have no expectations about nothing and not be disappointed than the complete opposite.
I do not think I am more afraid of more than the other. If I fail, then I fail. And, well, I just cannot have that. But once I succeed in something then I feel like I have to work harder and harder and harder until I wear myself out and become a failure that is too busy to try and succeed.... Oh, the vicious cycle that is pass or fail!

Very good question, yes i find myself doing things like this all the time.Sometimes intentionally (even though i don't understand the motives behind it)...other times it sneeks up on me. I think EVERYONE is afriad of failure, it's basic human nature...i also think most are afriad of success...some just don't know it. Once i have aheived success i find myself having no idea what to do with it. That's what i think :]

certain amp, certain, certain and certain again I sabotage myself. Why is this so? precisely what you ask right here, is what I ask myself at present day!! So i definitely seem ahead to a pair strong solutions.

i have been in college for the past six years, all of it in an attempt to not have to "grow up". i think that i have finally found that i'm not scared of the responsibilities, but of the freedoms.
