We have been in an almost permanent war economy since WW2, just to a lesser extent. Once they realized that war could bring us out of the depression, they didn't want to let go of it.

If you are going on that eh...interesting premise the economy has rebounded. We were handed a recession and even with 911, war on terror, war in Iraq, Katrina, Rita, Ivan, and the rest of the hurricanes and natural disasters we have faced along with the Tsunami and the massive earthquakes, we are still going strong. How much more proof do you need.?

the economy was going to crap before bush took office so the war has nothing to do with the economy and it would be ignorant to try him as a war criminal because he was getting rid of terrorists that attacked this country on 9/11 and if clinton would have took care of bin laden the first time he tried to take out the trade centers all of this could have been avoided but he was to busy in the oral office if you get my point.

Bush is not a war criminal because of the current middle east conflict. Congress authorized the use of military force in Iraq and Afghanistan, making those deployments completely legal.

Bush is a war criminal because he violated 18 USC 2441, which is the federal statute that defines war crimes. This fact has been confirmed by the US Supreme Court at least twice.

I would like to take this moment in time to agree whole heartily with your reasoning. With the exception of "if it doesn't work".

If Bush knowingly used forged documents to sell this war, he is indeed a war criminal.
