I have tried to use several translators, but none of them seem to know what καλός Өάνατος means. The first part apparently means "good", but I don't know what the last part is.

I see!This is from "300" movie!
For them means that phrase "a death on the battle" (because that was the meaning of their lives)
But generally means "good death"!

The first word kalos- literally means corn;and the next word thanatos means death - so this is a slang and my greek is not good enough to give you the meaning of the slang.

An oxymoron meaning "good death" as though there could be such a thing, but it indicates that the dearly beloved who passed away did not suffer.

death = θαναÏοÏ
it might mean painless death or a valiant death in batlle or something.
also Thanatos (ÎαναÏοÏ) was the personification of death in Greek mythology , son of Nyx ( night ) and Erebus(darkness ) and twin brother of Hypnos ( sleep ). so the meaning of the phrase depends on where you saw it....

It COULD mean someting like "good riddance"
as ÎάναÏÎ¿Ï DOES mean death.But the whole sentence would be better.
Maybe it means a quick and painless death.
