They just found the body of 6 year old Christopher Michael Barros, who was "allegedly" killed & burried in garbage by convicted sex offender George Edenfield, and his, (Georges') PARENTS in GA.
Should we raise taxes so we can spend more money trying to rehabilitate convicted predators like this before we unleash them on society, or is there some other option like maybe LIFE imprisonment, or the death penalty in extreme cases?

I was molested when i was 5 years old till the age of 1o by my mothers father! He admited it and senetenced to five years in jail! Out for good behavior at 2 years. Wow he learned his lesson huh? Honestly in my opinion even tho it is biast! Once they hit that point they should have **** for rights! At what point do we stop allowing this to happen! Putting a known sex offender back out into public cause he is rehabilitated? There is no rehabilitation after you take the innocence of a child! There for we are definitly not showing these criminals we mean business! Its sick and sometimes i really cant stand the world! It takes someone really demented to put there hands on a child!

Since no amount of rehab has proven to be in the least effective and the damage they do is so extreme (a priest in my parish was convicted of molesting boys. He admitted to over 30 boys abused during a 25 year period) I think they should be quarantined somehow. They must not be allowed back into society. They should be kept in an isolated community like lepers used to be until such time as a cure can be found.

Does anyone have stats on how many victims grow up to be molesters?

Unfortunately, there is no supporting evidence that child molesters can be rehabilitated.
It is such a common occurrence that these criminals will be repeat offenders that the ACLU has even pretty much given up trying to protect their identities from local laws which notify neighborhoods when a sex offender moves in.
Under no circumstance should these sex offenders be allowed to destroy another child's life - there should be no such thing as a repeat offender.
Life in prison, or if you're so disposed, the death penalty.

The goal is to make 100% sure that all kids are exposed to zero risk. One way to do that is to execute the predators, molesters, etc. for their first and only offense.

Life imprisonment in Maximum security is a fairly good second choice.

No, we should not raise taxes to rehabilitate such slime. Some criminals just cannot be rehabilitated, sex offenders are some of them. There is no need to waist tax money on these "people", lethal injection is far more effective, and far less expensive.

As a former criminal prosecutor, I can tell you that you do no rehabilitate these predators. They have an unquenchable thirst for children. By the time you catch one, he has molested for years and slipped up this one time. They Always continue to molest. Imprison them for life of kill them but do not fool yourself into thinking you will fix them.

I think the problem is that rehabilitation is not really possible with a certain group of molesters, we just need them to be incarcerated. unfortunately, the first minor offenses don't carry a life sentence so they can't be held, only tracked, but that system has flaws of course

Child Molesters can not be rehabilitated, and I for one do not want to spend one more penny on rehabilitation or feeding and housing these mother fer's. this crime should carry the death penalty, they should be allowed one appeal, and if they loose lights out, and now that I think of it, why should one more family send their kids off to war to die, when our prisons are filled with violent felons and gang members, that only live to fight, lets send them off to fight. knock off some time for military time served, if they come back alive!

They can't be rehabilitated. How about a choice of life imprisonment or castration?

Well, we're making no progress whatsoever in rehabilitating them.
Generally, if there is any money available, it is used simply to keep
them away from children - doesn't make the urge goes away, just
denies the opportunity.

It is not a sickness you want to have - you become society's
pariah.
