one the converter bolts to them the other you wield it in further down you decide where room for the cat is
if you are planing on passing emissions tests you need the converters if your car is 1996 or newer you need the converter so your computer will work rite if you are modifing the dickins out of it or its older and you want a racer leave the converters off it will never pass a smog test but who cares when your dion 150 mph or dragging
and you will need to do it yourself as if i do it to your car and your planing on driveing it on the street i can get fined $10,000 bucks

I'm not aware of headers coming with catalytic converters, they're usually on the intermediate pipe, after the exhaust manifold or headers. Catalytic converters are required by most states because they clean the car's emissions to stem air pollution. Removing them allows the exhaust to flow more freely but the risk of being caught without them outweighs the performance gains of removing them. Not having the cats can result in a large fine and penalties. You can replace the factory catalytic converters with aftermarket "high flow" units to remain emissions-legal and gain a few horsepower.

Headers without converters are better but converters can be very experience. The removal of converters improves vehicle performance. Headers without is a straight pipe from the header to the muffler and headers with are for pollution control. Be careful and check with local BMV to see if it is legal to run without converters in your state. Otherwise it could be a costly mistake if your local state laws require the use of converters. Most people don't think of this before doing so. Hope this helps..
