my you are busy this evening Chi.
I agree with you.. pointless, wasteful pork barrel projects.
I do take a bit of exception that you are portraying this as if republicans are the only ones doing it. You know better than that.

How long was the railroad track?

Did you know, that railroad track (unsignaled) costs $1 million to build per mile? That includes materials, real estate cost, man hours, and equipment. Not to mention power for that equipment. And thats unsignaled.

If the railroad track is signaled, its another million per mile.

From the center of the track, the railroad owns the land stretching 25 feet in either direction. If he was moving a 30 mile stretch of track 30 feet inland, then the railroad had to buy that coastal land at its full cost, because they didn't own it already. Then they have much more to do.

Yes, republican spending is terrible. But make sure you know what you are talkng about before you ask.

For example, where is the influence peddling bill the Dems promised? Nowhere is sight; same ole', same ole'.

Ask the King of Pork the same question. KKK Byrd has appropriated money to build roads that go nowhere and other pork projects than any other member of congress. Why aren't you asking him this?
