Personally I think abortion should be legal because you "have the right" but, on the other hand we should limit it.
I notice that IN SOME CASES abortion is like a way to get rid of your baby and drop the financial, paternal and the other stuff that comes with it.
NOTICE HERE I SAID IN SOME CASES NOT ALL.
So everybodys happy right...

So we should make it for medical reasons only, not for personal.

The majority of Americans beleive that abortion should be illegal when done for convenience reasons. Also the majority of Americans support abortions being allowed in cases of rape, incest, and threat to the mother. But abortion activists work hard to make clever sidesteps and protect convenience murders using the rape and threat to the mother cases.
I know we can't all agree. But when we already agree, why are we letting a small loud group of people keep us from getting things done?

Happy for a while. At first it seems like the best "thing to do". Some stats show that more than half female (and some male) suicides, 3 months to 1 year (yes I said 1 year) after having abortions, are due to not being able to accept the quilt.
We should also consider the long lasting effect on the living. Maybe our government should be more supportive of free Birth Control than allowing us the choice of abortion (except in extreme cases).
Throw in the stats given by pinkgoat and I think you have your happy answer.

I think that abortion for medical reasons should be legal. For personal reasons I'm divided. I know if I was in that position I would not have an abortion, but I am a guy, so I will never be in that position. Being around children makes me beleive that abortion is wrong, but I will never go through what some people go through, so I don't think I should make a decision on it.
If someone were to ask me advice I would tell them to have the baby and put it up for adoption.

I agree with Kyle D on this, abortion should be allowed if the fetus is a medical danger to it's Mother... The mother is a living, breathing human being and not a potential living breathing human being... the extension of life to those already breathing is the humane thing to do... On the flip side of abortion... I am annoyed and dismayed by those who practice selective abortion... It's going to be a boy... but I wanted a girl... solution = kill the fetus... this is morally wrong and an act of inhumanity... Oh, I didn't want the baby right now... kill the baby... I've changed my mind in the 3rd trimester... kill the baby... I am thankful to my Mother who was unwed, poor and living in the early 60's, for not getting an abortion... she made sacrifices.... something people who live today don't seem to be able to do... It's hard to be a parent... but it's even harder to face your maker after you have taken the life of such an innocent being !!!

I think the same as you do. Abortion should be legal becasue in some cases, the mother is physically or finacially unable to support a baby. But if she is getting an abortion just becasue she decides that "oh, I just don't feel like having a baby" then she should not be able to get it.
PS I'm so sick of peple calling people like you and I Liberals just becasue we don't hate abortion.

you poor thing, you posted a legit statement and other people are being idiotic. I am with you on this,i had my first child at 18, I've had 3 kids sinceand gave one up for adoption (my 2nd and 19), and If it were my choice to abort I should have a place to do it safely. I have performed an abortion on myself when I was 17 with a coathanger and a pop bottle and nearly died in the months after. Anyone who benevolently opposes abortion is closeminded and selfish.

I can't help but consider abortion to be murder. It's your fault you're pregnant so you should take responsibility for your actions and love the creation of your flesh like a normal human being.
On the other hand, I do support abortion for rape and medical reasons.

I think it should be legal in all cases. If you don't want a kid then you shouldn't have to have it. It's your body and you decided what is best for you. We have the technology to do it and there are far less unwanted children in the world with it. The fact that the environment can't sustain this many people for much longer, is a good enough reason to maintain population control.
I'm all for it, though prevention is a far better alternative. I think people need better access to birth control.

I had my two kids, then had my tubes tied.
I never murdered one of my children.
To those who say it is their body:
Tell me...is it your body that is being sucked or cut into little pieces...
or is it an innocent baby who had no choice as to whether you kept your legs together or not.
Yes, if the mother's life is in danger, I can except that.

Around 4000 babies are killed every single day in America. That is 25,000 humans killed every week. 109,000 humans killed every month. 1.3 million babies are killed a year. A staggering 1.3 million people in one single year. About 119 people died a day in a car accident in 2005. That is 43,435 people dying a year in a car accident, over one million less than the people that are killed in abortions.
