I am 21 years old, 5'4" and weigh about 101 lbs. I eat a lot. I eat junk food but I also try to eat as much healthy food as I can. However I find that most of my friends my age weigh about 130 or so. I feel like I am seriously under weight. I am not anorexic or something cuz I know I'm too small and I need to gain weight and I eat whatever I want. I just think that because I weigh so little I don't look proportioned or anything...I really want to weigh at least 120 or 130. Please help? What can I do?

I have a friend who is 25, around 5'3" and is a size 2. Every morning she has a bacon and egg sandwich, crap for lunch and crap for dinner. I just have to look sideways at a mars bar and I go up three dress sizes. The thing is she has a super fast metabolism.

If you eat well then don't worry about what society says you have to look like.

If you are concerned, the best person to speak to is your doctor. You may have a condition such as Hyperthyroidism - a metabolism disorder, which can be treated with medication, or he/she may be able to suggest other reasons why you are the way you are.

Consider yourself to be fortunate to be on the other side of the weight battle. When I was 21 I weighed 105 lbs at 5'7". I ate everything I wanted to and with glee! All my friends were complaining about cellulite and fat etc. However as I get older I watch my weight slowly increase! I now weigh 125 lbs. and I have to be more cautious and selective in what I eat. So....don't fret about your weight. As time progresses, you will add the lbs on.

What can you do? Eat. But I must say this is a strange case, you are the only woman ive ever met who sought to gain weight. You must evaluate if you really want to do so, you dont know what youll look like when you do. I used to want to gain 10 lbs, ended up gaining 20 now im fat.

The world is overweight and here you are trying to cause problems for yourself in your later years. Weight has a tendency to creep up on you when you least expect it. So, be careful of what you ask for, and be happy with yourself that you are not tipping the scale. And for heaven sake, stop comparing yourself to someone else. I guess if they were stupid then you'd want to be stupid too! You are unique and have so much more that you should be thinking of, other than sizing yourself up against what someone else weighs.

I doubt that anything is wrong with you, but it might be a good idea to have a doctor confirm that. It is possiblt that you could have some malfunction in your system, like HyperThyroid condition which would keep your weight down.
A simple blood test can give you the answer.

It is probobly your genes and high matabolism that keep you from gaining weight. If you want to gain weight in a good way, try lifting weights to tone your body up. Muscle weighs more than fat.

Most young ladies would kill for your problem. Maybe 120 is too much for you nut 112 would be great. Exercise and some protein powders may do it for you. puritin.com for good deals on vitamins.
