I think dark skin is stunning! I'm not just saying that. I am very pale, and don't intend on going to an unhealthy tanning booth anytime soon. That said, I love darker skin. I think we are born with what we are born with. I had commented on a youtube video of Tyra and a model who was saying how she never felt pretty because she was dark. I pointed out in my comment that being white, although idealized by society over time, is not something to be valued anymore. Or, at least, it shouldn't be valued anymore. Skin color can't define a person. I pointed out how it sucks that we get moles, sun burns (bright red tomato skin( that peels), and turn pink from exercise. I think there are beautiful women in every ethnic group, and as i had said in response to Tyra's video, "the victorian era is over, so why are we still obsessed with pale skin." My point is that you are perfect just the way you are. It's like the blonde vs. brunette debate. There are blondes with prettier faces/ brunettes/ red heads/ black hair...etc. Finally, just a additional comment...my sister's best friend has stunning brown skin, and looks like a model. I think it's a shame that there are so many people who judge based on skin color when it's such a trivial topic.

You cant. The reason why your skin is darker on your knees is because the skin is alot looser there allowing movement for the knee. The skin is alot tighter on the rest of your legs thats why it is lighter. I think everyone has this and it is nothing to be ashamed of. You want to be able to bend at the knee, right?

I was thinking the same answer. My aunt told me that the reason your knees is darker than your skin is because, you stay on your kees alot and even if you where pants. So try not to get on your knees alot.Oh! and when you take a shower at least scrub hard as you can and try not to get on your knees alot.

Everyone does since there is more skin on the knees since they bend, so the skin appears darker when really it is not. If you pushed all the skin on your calf together it would appear darker like your knee.
Nothing you can really do about it except not worry about it since we are all like that & it is normal & no one really sees it or pays any attention to it.

my knee is kinda like that too!
but i don't really consider it a problem
try to get tanning lotion, or tone lotions
they help develop some color on the places you want them
i'm sure you can find them at drugstores and the grocery store's beauty products
good luck with that
=)

well if it's tanner that makes your knees darker (i know you didn't mention any kind of "tanner" but still..) you could use lemmon juice to lighten it. If it's your natural skin they have skin bleaching creams you can find in local drugstores.

Can't win on this one. Had that problem and thought maybe too much sun....no way dirty....tired lighteners, lemons, scrubbing....nothing much worked. I use a sun block now and it's a little better on my ankles and knees.
