The other day I had to ask the girl at Subway for a key. Why do they do that?

I know why: some people walk in, do not buy anything, leave the bathroom a mess and people who have paid for food have to use a disgusting bathroom.

That way they know who to blame when they go in after someone and they have smeared S**T all over the walls or thrown a whole roll of Toilet paper in the toilet..or clogged it with a diaper..I know its a pain to ask for the key BUT chances are you will walk into a CLEAN bathroom..I use to work for the turnpike and you wouldnt believe the pigs that come through there had someone crap IN A sink once..nasty nasty people..You wouldnt think people would do things like this but humans are nastier then dogs..at least they will wipe there butt on the carpet or grass instead of your wall..

Thats pretty bad when they give you a key its not for safety of the customers because they could in-stall locks for the customers. They don't trust the people who patronize the restaurant,drug addicts, homeless people, they want to make sure your a customer not doing anything illegal or getting too comfortable.People steal everything I was a manager in a restaurant

To keep non customers from using the bathroom.
In some inner city neighborhoods, they lock the bathroom to keep homeless people and drug addicts from using the bathroom to bathe or shoot up.

to keep it limited to the public, its retarded . . possibly they are lazy and dont want to clean as much ?
