The United States recruited Navajo Indians from Arizona and New Mexico to serve as special code talkers. The code talkers would speak in Navajo using a special code they devised.
"birds" would mean airplanes, etc.

You're thinking of the Najavo language that was used by Native Navajo's during the war. The reason the government decided on this language as a code was because the Navajo language had no written version. Therefore it was impossible to crack.

You're thinking about the Navajo Indians. They could talk freely without going through code machines that were slow and not foolproof.
The chance of any Japanese being able to understand Navajo was zero.

Navajo Indian. They enlisted a bunch of Native American Navajo to conduct radio chatter, no one could figure it out.
I think they made a movie about it a few years back, called "Windtalkers"

honestly it replaced into 70% racial. the U. S. of 1940 replaced right into a really 'racist' position. Asians, Africans were seen no longer as sturdy as Europeans and were and were dealt with as unequals. then you definately have those unequal human beings below you attack your united states at Pearl Harbor...nicely you may imagine the prevalent public racial reaction. the different 30% replaced into because of time and numbers. the U. S. did no longer have that many eastern human beings living in the U. S. and maximum of those had arrived from Japan in undemanding words in the near previous in the finest 20-40 years. at the same time as the U. S. had tens of millions and tens of millions of German human beings living in the U. S. as between the most important ethnic communities and maximum of those were right here for one hundred years. The Germans were seen a secure portion of the yankee 'melting pot' the recent eastern were no longer.
