i had my cervix irritated on a friday and it took till monday when i was re checked and was still same dilation and 50 percent effaced the eventually induced labor because i was dormant, also the bleeding is more than likely your mucus plug meaning your are preparing for delivery which means more than likely you will have more frequent contractions and more blood, try walking and doing lots of squats it will help spead the process,

When I was pregnant with my second child, my first due date was June 10. It was moved up to June 4. May 20th I had an OB/GYN appointment and they told me I was 4 cm. and 50 % effaced. Had no pains, but she abraded the cervex anyway. May 29th my water broke. Still no labor. Was admitted in the hospital. 6 hours and no labor. Gave me pitossin IV for 8 hours. This started intense contractions, but I never dialated further. I ended up with a c-section and a beautiful little girl. It was uncommon for me to not dialate further with the pitossin. I'm sure you will be just fine. These last few hours will fly right by. Good luck!!

If you are dialated to a 3 then you can go into labor anytime and it should be no longer than a week! If you want it to go faster you can try taking walks. I have 2 sons that are grown but i have coached like 13 babies being born. Also of your cervix is irritated it could partly be due to the fact it's trying to thin in order for that baby to be born ,and partly because of her. Just hang in there and may God be with you-that you have a very healthy and precious baby!

I had a similar problem with my 20 yr old I wouldn't dilate anymore and it turned out that my pelvic would not separate they gave me an epidural and made a small crack in my pelvic and everything moved so fast that the Dr didn't even have time to dress for the occasion. The spotting is from the membrane being irritated.

Never had that done! So cant help ya.. All I know if you have strep b your suppose to take the meds through your iv as soon as you go into labor to try and prevent it from passing to baby.

If i was you i would go back to hospital and have them re examine you. If you have the strep b infection you should be having an antibiotic drip now. Especially if you are in slow early stage labour. I wouldn't waste any more time just go up to the hospital now.

My wife has never heard of it, neither have I.
The simplest thing to do is have your doctor (Ob-Gyn) induce you. Because you are overdue, it should make little difference.
Watch the bleeding, you might want to get a second opinion.
