We know he was making it up because Mark Antony was not at the meeting of the Senate in which Julius Caesar was murdered. He had been called out to discus some matter by one of the conspiritors. This was a ploy to keep Antony away from Caesar so he would have no protection.
When Antony pointed to the wounds and named people it was after the event when the conspiritors were know. Of course Antony, not being there, did not know which precise wounds were caused by which precise conspiritors. His words were metaphorical for the speech. Hope this helps.

You’re describing Shakespeare’s play, correct? In the play (as in life, presumably), Antony wasn’t present at the assassination (else he’d be dead, too).

I dont think he was trying to make it up. He saw the murder. He just tried to convince the senate at the funeral to rally against brutus and the other followers.

MANY OF THE PERPETRATORS BRAGGED ABOUT THEIR ACCOMPLISHMENT BECAUSE OF THEIR POWER OF COMMITTMENT AND CONVICTIONS TO THE REPUBLIC ;IF NOT THEIR PERSONAL HONOR IN SAVING IT FROM "DESPOTISM "AND "DICTATORSHIP!!NOT AT ALL LIKE THE VILLANS WHO KILLED JOHN F. KENNEDY IN SUCH A DASTARDLY AND REMOVEDLY SAFE AND DISTANT CIRCUMSTANCE!!SITTING IN TEXAS OIL BOARD ROOMS AND HOTELS WITH HOOKERS PLANNING THIS TRUELY HEROIC AMERICAN ICONS DEMISE!!HE SHOULD HAVE STAYED IN THE PACIFIC WITH THE CANNIBALS OF THE SOLOMON ISLANDS,REVERED BY EVERYONE WHO WOULD NOTICE TRUE COURAGE,RESPONSIBLITY,VALOUR AND COMPLETEL SELFLESSNESS IN FACE-TO-FACE ACTION WITH AN IMPLACABLE FOE OF TREMENDOUSLY SUPERIOR FORCE AND RESOURCES IN A STAND-UP FIGHT FOR THE RULE OF THE WIDE PACIFIC OCEAN!!
