I don't have that problem as I know my password but I was wondering if its possible to boot up the PC even when you have used a system password in the setup option before the OS loads up. A friend of mine told me if I removed the battery, it would reset to default's settings and so it wouldnt ask me for a password however I tried this and I still needed a password to boot up the system. I also noticed the time and date were fine. So considering the fact that you can't enter in Safe mode nor boot from the CD..is there still a way to load the OS if you don't know the system password? Thanks. :)

Yes.
It varies with different BIOS types like Award or American Megatrends, however there are bootable programs available that can reset the passwords or even reveal them.

Many boards also have emergency jumpers that can be set to clear the BIOS password.
Others can be cleared by removing the battery & (with the PC powered off) creating a short between the + & - connectors on the empty battery slot.

- if this is done on your PC you will know it because the password you entered will have been erased.

Some laptops like the IBM ThinkPads (now Lenovo) have a higher level of security that requie a factory "reset" to clear the BIOS password. They normally only do this when certain that it is at the request of the legitimate owner.
This helps businesses protect data on PCs that may be lost or stolen.

yes you can. the bios password is only so someone can't get into the bios, the system password can also be by-passed by hitting the cancel button. even though you get it to boot up after the cancel, alot of setting won't be able to be changed unless you are the ADMIN. you can also find a program that will show you all windows password on the system. do this by searching for " lost windows password" searching google. you can also search the system for files called *.pwl PWL is the extension of where the passwords are stored. finally, by removing the battery on the board, it will remove all system bio passwords. the system will need to be unpluged and battery removed for at least 15minutes and ensure a full capacitor dump of power. also like other sugest, but not always the case. check your mother board manual and see if it does have the password jumpers. if it does set it to disable the passwords and leave it. if you are'nt going to use the passwords, then there is no reason to enable the jumper settings. email me the type and make of the board and i'll tell you how to do this easier...

Some motherboards have a jumper you need to move to clear the BIOS settings. or both remove the battery and then short the pins or whatever. (Or sometimes you need to leave the battery out for an extended period of time for the bios to clear)

there is a password jumper on the board. switch it over, boot up, shut down, switch it back, and the PW should be gone.
try more jumpers if it doesnt work the first time. It might not be labeled
