It is a testimony to the state of affairs that you have phrased this questioned with "does anyone dare".
Getting people to accept/ignore wrongdoing by the use of fear is a tactic used throughout mankind.
People struggle day to day to make a living, to care for their families, to deal with life's uncertainties and challenges. When there is a national or global tragedy, all they want to hear is someone saying they will take care of it and there is no need to worry. People don't have the time to monitor, evaluate, investigate and respond to every corrupt action of their government.
The time is long past when your voice is heard on election day. We are forced to vote for the lesser of two evils. No longer can anyone run for office. You need millions to run and if you are not independently wealthy, you need a party nomination or big business to support you. In order to get that you must toe the party line or support policy to make the big business bigger. What happened to the voice of the people.
In answer to your question, I feel betrayed. I served for 14 years in the military and did so because I believed in the Constitution, I thought I served a government that learned from its mistakes (ie. Vietnam) and I was proud to be American.
I feel betrayed because I see an administration that appoints "friends" to critical government positions for which they are unqualified to hold (FEMA, directors of Iraq rebuilding effort, Halliburton, etc), that assigns those who have a political allegiance to positions where having no political allegiance is essential (Attorney General) and that sends young men and women to fight in a country we have no business fighting in. Our leaders, who have never served in the armend forces or put their lives on the line are killing those who serve proudly for a cause we cannot win.
I feel betrayed.

I think the big corporations, Saudi countries and President Bush are "bud's". I think the gap between the rich and poor will get bigger and bigger. I think a more global government will be formed and the US will no longer be the "biggest" or the "best". I think multiple flags will soon wave over the US and we will become so "diverse" that people today will never recognize the future US as the US. There will be no common language or culture.

I believe that "this President" is a spoiled rich kid who is still secretly in the oil business, and ran for President so that he could weasel his way into Iraq, get rid of Saddam Hussein, and exploit that country's oil reserves. He has Daddy Bush and Dick Cheney behind him, and they are all making millions in the oil business, not just in Iraq, but also Yemen.

Elected Presidents rule only at the pleasure of its people.
Option is to accept democracy or pray to God for sending a wise person to lead a democracy.
