It's a little hard to advise you what to do without suggesting products to purchase from the local drugstore or something. But, what I do when I don't have money to blow on some kind of acne wash or something that may or may not work... just continually wash my face, at least three times a day. Use a non-abrasive ... regular... mild soap ... whatever you have... and wash your face when you wake up, and moisturize afterwards with a LIGHT moisturizer... don't go piling it on either, that will make it worse... and again in the afternoon if you can, and before you sleep. If you shower hours before you sleep, wash your face before you get into bed. And if you shower in the morning, I'd say no additional washing is needed for the morning.
I had blackheads too... it just seemed that no matter how much I washed, rubbed, cleaned... whatever... they were there and for the life of me I just couldn't figure out why. So I experimented a bit and I figured out that the longer I go between washes... the bigger the pores look/the more dirt/oil they retain...thus leaving me with that nasty lil blackhead on my nose.
I tried those Biore nose strips... they work, but take some getting used so. Either that, or, I read online that if you have a pair of tweezers, you can use that to (GENTLY!) pull the oil/dirt out of there and you'll be left with a clear/empty pore. But I read that instead of using the regular tweezers, there's special ones that are rounded and not angled with the point on the end. I use the angled regular one still though. (Same one I use on my eyebrows.) Just hold my nose or push it to where I can see the darn thing and either with or without the tweezer (can use a fingernail and push under it also) and the oil/dirt will make its way out of the pore.
As for the pimples... also require constant washing, and PLEASE do not pick at them. If you think you're doing yourself a favor by picking at them, you're not. Picking at pimples leaves you at risk for a leftover scar or mark on your face, so try not to do that.
So again... for the pimples and blackheads, constant washing, and light moisturizer. (Not too much because the open pore seems to just suck it right up, kinda defeating the purpose) and for the blackheads (if they're on your nose, that's where mine were/are) you can try your eye-brow tweezer.
My ex had them also but his skin was a bit oily so when he just squeezed his nose they popped out and then he washed his face. I tried to squeeze mine too and the dirt/oil didn't just spew out like it did with him, so I use the tweezers, and also my fingernail sometimes. Be sure to be very gentle though so you don't pick your skin off instead of the dirt/oil that's ready to come out.
Be patient though, it will go away.
In the shower you can pay special attention to your face. I have my loofa, and when I'm showering I wash my hair and then I scrub my face clean (lather up good and circular motion, use the loofa with the soap on it (I use Dove Moisturizing Bar Soap)) and then I scrub my face (not too hard) again right before I exit the shower.

I heard that steaming your face will open the pores (that's why I scrub before I exit the shower, pores are opened up by then and I can get all the extra gunk that I may have missed the first time around)... like if you get a bowl and put a fragrance oil if you'd like with some boiling water, and sit over the bowl with your head near the water in the steam...cover with a towel... opens up your pores...
Then you wash and finish off with cold water to snap your pores shut once you get all the gunk off... light moisturizer when done.

If you ever have any spare cash to spend, maybe try some Olay facial cleansers, I've been using those lately and they're pretty good.

Good luck to you, whatever you end up doing.

Take it easy,
miR :)

ps. I can not say enough, please be very careful with the tweezers if you try them. You can otherwise damage your skin if you're too rough or heavy handed.

Plus you didn't say if you wore make up... I don't so I don't really have any tips for that besides NOT sleeping in make up or cremes, etc, because they clog the pores more.

And while you're at it, try to drink a little more water. Water helps your body stay hydrated, and in turn makes your skin softer and feel better. And (for me at least, in combo with the often cleanings) has afforded me less pimples and/or blackheads.

Oh and keep your hands away from your face. Try not to lean your hands on your face... or your head in your hands... spreads and pushes the oils further into your skin, and can make it itchy.
Plus you never want to put dirty hands near/on your face anyway... germs n what not...
Good luck to ya!

Well a short term solution that might work is toothpaste. Apply it at night and in the morning it should peel away. Washing your face before bed and in the morning with a face cleanser also works. And astringent is also helpful controlling blackheads.

100% pure aloe vera gel.
for the blackheads..apply a warm washcloth to your face..or when you step from the shower and your skin is soft.....
always start with clean skin....you can ease the blackheads out gently..no squeezing them.
make sure your hands are very clean before touching your face.
never squeeze a pimple. just apply your aloe vera gel...it will work.
wash you face 2-3 times a day.
never sleep with make-up on!

A little dab of toothpaste when you go to sleep at night and the pimples will be more dried up in the morning. works for me in a pinch.
