What are the things that are worth buy and the things that shouldn't be bought? What about how you should approach the park? At what time should you go, and what attractions should be avoided or are must-sees?

I would say get there so you are entering as soon as they are open. Get your FAST PASS for high traffic rides, like Space Mountain, Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean, etc.... then enjoy the park. The best time for rides is during mealtime. Plus... try eating at off times. I think the best souvenir to buy is a Disneyland map. They are only a few dollars and are HUGE poster size and also help you see an overview of the park. There are tons of great items you can buy there.. depending upon what your budget is. I'd invest in a digital camera & perhaps buy one of their "Disneyland picture frames" as a momento of your day.

The Monorail and the Disneyland Railroad are both a good way to see an overview of the park. Do NOT miss seeing the Californian Hotel. It's a beautiful American Craftsman style hotel. (of course if you have kids... this will be a MAJOR yawn for them).

As far as eating... I enjoy Redd Rocket's Pizza Port in Tomorrowland. They have a variety of pizza, pasta & salads at reasonable prices (and quite tasty).

Try to stick to one land rather then doing a ricochet style of seeing the park (it will tire you out!). Alot depends upon if you are travelling with kids or not.

The parades are well worth seeing..as are the fireworkds displays at night! Don't miss them. Our family tradition is to be there at opening.. and leaving at closing as they slowly herd you out of the park! : P

Have fun.. it truly is a magical place (My husband & I got engaged there!)

Disneyland is the Happiest Place on Earth, so you're going to have fun there no matter what, but here's how I make the most of my time at Disneyland.

Attractions: Ok I can not stress this enough--get to the park when it opens!! People don't really start pouring in until about an hour after opening, so if you get there on time, you can ride a lot of the popular rides that usually get huge lines with little or no wait. Also, use Fastpass--it will save you so much time! http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disneyland/en_US/help/gsDetail?name=FastPassGSDetailPage Personally, I don't think that there are any attractions that should be avoided since they're all fun. I would recommend getting at least a 3-day Park Hopper ticket, so you can see almost everything at least once, and have time to go back and do the stuff you especially enjoyed again.

Shows: All of the shows in the Disney parks are great, but my personal two favorites are the fireworks and Billy Hill and the Hillbillies. The fireworks are absolutely amazing and they're the best one's I've ever seen. Though you don't hear about it as much as you do the fireworks or the parades, Billy Hill (at the Golden Horseshoe) is one of Disneyland's best shows--it's hilarious. At California Adventure, I would recommend seeing the Aladdin stage show, which is like a mini-Broadway musical.

Souvenirs: Bring a lot of money for souvenirs, because there's a ton of great stuff to buy (and it's all kind of expensive). Definitely buy at least one park picture--you can have your picture taken in various spots around the park (the ones with Mickey Mouse or ones taken in front of the castle are my favorite), as well as on rides (Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Tower of Terror, and California Screamin').

Food: Unlike a lot of amusement parks, Disneyland actually has pretty decent food. My favorite restaurants are Hungry Bear in Critter Country (Disneyland) and the Pacific Wharf Café in Pacific Wharf (California Adventure). If you like pineapples, you must get a Dole Whip at the Tiki Juice Bar--they're the best! I also love the Mickey Mouse ice cream bars and Mickey Mouse cookies (they're found all over the parks).

I hope you have a great time at Disneyland!

It's Disneyland, so you pretty have most fun at everything. But if teens are goin, most likely they'll go on rides and if there are kids they would usually would want to go and get characters' signatures. Almost everything there is worth buying, because it shows that you went to Disney and had a wonderful time, but don't shop too much if you are the stay on the budget type. There's a lot of people at the park so everybody should stick to each other. I hope I've been a real help. Have fun :)

You should go a with another person, I would recommend your significant other.

First ride a couple of favorite rides, then go on some rides that you have not been on since you were kids, such as the Dumbo ride and Mr. Toads wild ride.

While Disneyland has yummy snack treats like ice cream, when you want a meal, I would go to Mimi's Cafe on Harbor Blvd. It's a short walk and your meal will be more relaxing, the food will taste better and costs less.

After that break, head back tot he park and finish up riding (or re-riding ) your favorite rides then head to Main street for final souvenir shopping.

go to the website and get a park map delivered free when you sign up for things you want to see. If you stay at a Disney resort you can go 1 hour earilier that the rest of the ppl and 2 hours later after the park closes for the rest of the ppl. Do you homework online. Think about the ages of your children. Do the Fastpass.. (research it) and just relax.. It is hard not to have a good time.

I'll give you a basic rundown on how I do Disneyland

-Work your way from the entrance to Adventureland
Ride Jungle Cruise then Indiana Jones.... then go to Pirates of the Caribbean, then Haunted Mansion, and finish with critter Country. then begin heading towards Thunder Mountain, and ride that, then continue to Fantasyland. By now, its, probably lunchtime, noonish... maybe later.

-USE THE FASTPASS!!!!! There isn't anything better. Seriously, someone should get a Nobel Peace Prize for inventing it. All you do is go to a Fastpass distribution center (Its right by the ride) and stick in your ticket into the machine. You will get a Fastpass that has a time on it ( for instance, 12:00 - 1:00) the time given is the time in which you may go to the attraction and enter the Fastpass line, which is pretty much a one-way, no stopping ticket that takes you straight to your ride vehicle. pretty sweet huh?? However, you can only have one fastpass at a time. You must wait until the fastpass you previously aquired expires before you can recieve another one. Many guests are in to great of a hurry to wait for a fastpass, so many people will still wait in the Stand-by line. once again, use the fastpass! Also, I don't know if they still do this, but they have a multiple fastpass option. This allows you to get as many fastpasses as you want, you do not need to wait for the previous fastpass to expire.

-Also, riding rides during meal times/show times is a great idea. For instance, watch Fantasmic! one night, and then the next showing of Fantasmic!, skip it and ride all of the rides that are usually crowded in the day. It seems like all of Disneyland goes to Fantasmic!... I remember rides only having a 10 minute wait during Fantasmic! Also a lot of people feel the need that they have to eat, so Disneyland sort of dies down during meal hours (I say sort of because thats not always the case.)

-Now, depending on how big of a Disney person you are determines the proper souvenir. I, for instance, like the high quality merchandise, such as sculptures, models, and paintings, things that remind me of Disneyland at my house (a Disneyland away from Disneyland). If you only want a t-shirt or something small but sentimental, go to either the
a-) Disney Emporium in Main Street U.S.A.
b-) World of Disney Store in Downtown Disney (this is where I get all of my souvenirs and collectables. this place is LOADED)
c-) Pieces of Eight at New Orleans Square (I like this store because I love Pirates of the Caribbean. A must for any POTC fan who wants some small Pirates trinket.)

-My favorite place to eat is the Pizza Space Port in Tomorrowland. Somewhat (sorta....) cheap and very good pasta!! but If you want to dine in more of a fine-dining experience, I suggest the Blue Bayou Restaraunt. Located in New Orleans Square, this dining experince provides wonderful atmosphere (ask for an outside seat because the outdoor dining area is right in the middle of the bayou in the pirates of the caribbean attraction! no joke!!!! you get to dine in the Louisiana bayou while the boats of the ride just drift right by!) and wonderful food. If you want to dine here, as soon as you enter the park, rush down there and make a reservation. the Blue Bayou can get a LONG waiting list.

-And finally, enjoy yourself. Don't feel that you need to do everything at Disneyland, do what you feel like so that your Disneyland experience will be more magical. Everything there is so magical, and the park is just so nastolgic, you really are entering a new world as you enter its gates. Enjoy your vacation, and I hope that your Disneyland experience is a memory you will cherish forever.

Alsoooooooooo.... if you would like to... brush up on some Disneyland History. It doesn't hurt, and It makes you appreciate it and enjoy it all the more. And If you'd like....... read more about Walt Disney, the man behind the park. knowing more about him makes you embody disneyland more like he did. go to www.wikipedia.org and enter keywords "Disneyland" or "Walt Disney", or do some Google searches

HAVE FUN AT DISNEYLAND!
