the price for 300 feet of cable is $55.00..
I need to figure out the price of 30 feet..

$55/300ft x 30ft = $5.50

More expensive than $5.50 though. Usually I buy less cable for more bucks per feet since you get bulk discount for the longer ones.

pretty simple, move the decimal to the left and you have 30feet answer =$5.50

(it's a ratio -- if that helps. put cost over feet equal to x over feet. solve for x)
