me and 2 of my friends are going on a road trip, cuz i just got my liscense and a car, and we wanted to follow route 66. I was wondering where it starts.

The old U S Route 66 started in Chicago and ended in Los Angeles as already stated. It was replaced by Interstate Highways 44 & 40. Much of it is still in existance, and it is a scenic historic trip, but there are a few sections that have deteriorated to the state that they are no longer travelable. Enjoy your trip, stop in at some of the "mom & pop eateries, and quaint theme motels and listen to some "oldies" to savor a taste of Americana from days gone by.

I believe it goes from like Chicago to Los Angelas, Ending and Start.
Not 100% sure though

Your parents must be crazy just letting you and a couple friends just take off and have no idea what you're gonna do and where you're gonna end up. You can tell them I said that too.
