Ok I'm wroting a poem about mermaids for my best friend for her birthday and I need some help to finish it. This is what I've gotten so far:
Oh mermaid Mermaid upon the shore...you gave me one wish and I wished for more...
^ thats all i got, and everything I think of doesn't seem to go right with it...please help, I would very much appreciate it.

mermaid mermaid upon the shore
you gave me one wish and i wished for more
but you said i had one wish and one wish alone
yet any other would be granted if i but make it know
so long i sat and pondered on what you said
then the perfect idea popped into my heard
give my friend (friends name here) the best day you can
this day that we celebrate when her life first began
happy birthday my very dear friend
