The best advice that was given to me was to bathe them when they get dirty.
That being said, there is nothing wrong with a bath every night at the same time as it sets up a routine which should make bedtime go quite smoothly.
Our little one has quite sensitive skin, so it's Oilatum in the bath and E45 cream afterwards. Just keep an eye on the skin and use a good cream at the first sign of dryness or eczema and everything should be fine.

Hi, Johnsons baby products are fine, but i think bathing every night is a bit over the top. Maybe every 2-3 days you should bathe a small baby. Just because you could bathe her every 2-3 days doesn't mean you shouldn't keep her hygine up. Do a top and tail every night in between days instead of bathing her. Top and tail is (incase you don't no) when you get a warm bowl of water and baby bath (be sure to check temp with elbow) and some cotton wool balls and wipe over her body. if you clean the babys face remember to get a clean wool ball and for each eye.
Hope my advise helps, tell me how it goes by emailing me on staceypearson105@hotmail.com

I think a bath each night before settling down is a good idea. It gets baby into a routine which can continue throughout childhood. It makes them feel fresh, just think how you feel if you didn`t bathe or shower each day. Its not that adults get particulary dirty but skin sheds and needs to be removed with a bath or shower.
Getting a routine early on in life can save lots of heartache as baby grows. Find a baby lotion which suits his/her skin but use it sparingly.

It's not necessary to give your little one a bath every day. Every other day or every 2 days is good. Their skin is ultra sensitive. It's really important to use pure water based products for their skin that is gentle enough to hydrate while providing natural ingredients to keep them feeling soft without causing irritation and dryness.
Being that my children are 6 and 8, I've tried many baby care products the last few years. Last year I discovered Arbonne and fell in love with their products. Arbonne has a great baby care line (hair and body wash, body lotion, diaper rash cream, sunscreen, and body oil) that is botanically-based and pH correct, pediatrician and dermatologist tested, non-sensitizing, non-irritating, and formulated without nut oils. Their diaper rash cream is formulated with oat flour which is an emollient and an emulsifier. It’s highly absorbent and hypoallergenic. Oat flour helps to soothe and soften dry, itchy and sensitive skin.
Many baby care products contain mineral oil, the molecular structure of which is too large to penetrate the pores of our skin, sitting on the top layer like saran wrap. These products get wiped off over time and give little to no benefit but rather a temporary feeling of softness. You need a water based product that will penetrate your baby's skin and deeply condition and hydrate with the proper ingredients.
If you're interested in learning more, I'll be happy to help you.

If we have the time we bathe our girls nightly. It's part of our night time routine and was a soothing way to calm our babies down (especially the last one since she was the youngest of 3). If we noticed her skin getting too dry we doubled on the moisturizer or skipped a bath. During the winter months, once they were older we moved to a bath every other night unless necessary due to extreme dirt since their skin was prone to get even more dry.

I have bathed both my babies every day, though I have been told that they don't really need it, but I find it's nice to have that one on one time at the end of the day. I have always used olive oil to moisturise them afterwards (you can buy it from your local pharmacy) and they have lovely soft skin

Our doctor told us that it wasn't necessary to bathe a newborn more than once a week. As she has gotten older, we now bathe her every night as part of her bedtime routine. That way she can get settled in for the night and go to sleep.

i bathe my son every night too,its part of his routine. i found my son was allergic to johnsons so we dont use it..u could try washing her body with baby wash every other night so its not too much for her,and other times just using water.they dont get very smelly at this age and a refreshing water wash is enough to clean them.if it does get bad u could always miss a bath. i dont think there is anything wrong with daily bathing as long as you dry her properly afterwards. my son LOVES his bath.
