The dumbing of the general population. When I was in grade school we were required to read the newspaper at regular talking speed, and explain exactly what we read, in fifth grade.
Now try reading the questions posted here on Yahoo answers. Most of them look like something written by a second grader.

Other people. I always think they are special, wise, different in a good way, etc., until I get to know them. I have never found anyone who is truly different from anyone else.
