Before the mid 1965's hispanics and spaniards(who are caucasions) were given white status. There was no Hispanic or latino race. This is why you see people like the cuban in I love Lucy perform in TV during a time of great discrimination. The fact is that until recently, the white hispanics have been stripped of their white category. I believe it was because of the great immagration that started coming in. For example, during the time of great immigration from Germany, Italy, ect.. they were not considered white. Can it be possibe for white hispanics to be giver white status and remove the term hispanic, which is not a race.
PS: Back then, if you were not mostly European, then you were either black, asian, or other.

To me, hispanic has never been a race, any more than Italian or Russian.

Hispanic is a general category for all the Latin population. We do have light skinned Cubans, Puerto Ricans, Mexicans etc. Its very interesting when you find someone say their full this and that. But in reality we all come from different races. Not just from one specific category.

Look Hispanic are Hispanics. Europeans are Europeans. Americans are Americans, and so on. What's the big deal? Not even if you try you could. Just be happy and love your self. Or do you feel you're nothing? if you are Hispanic?

I think that your self stem is base on being Hispanic or not being Hispanic. If you are a white Hispanic and you look like a mutt. Then I don't think you are Hispanic at all. White Hispanics have a bad white skin color, is like cheap color. I know a very pretty Hispanic girl, she is natural tan. And she couldn't be more proud of her skin color. Are you good looking at least? Get over! You could never be European. They are totally different. Do you have Michael Jackson Disease?
