Okay, you seem slightly confused, so to clear up a few things: sprinting and distance running use physiological systems differently, and any kind of lifting will only minimally help with endurance or distance running.

Sprinting is an anaerobic activity, which means that all the oxygen used in the sprint is already in your muscles. Oxygen used by muscles in sprints is not transported from outside the body, to the lungs, to the heart, and through the body, but is rather already in the muscles.

Long distance running is aerobic, and therefore does require the transportation of oxygen to muscle cells during the act of running. Because your oxygen and other stores in your muscles are depleted relatively quickly, your heart must pump oxygen-rich blood through your viens to replenish your muscles.

Now that you hopefully understand the difference between sprinting and sustained running, I'll also let you know that, because weight training does little to enhance your heart's ability to pump blood efficiently throughout your body, the only effect it will have is to make your muscles fatigue a little less easily. The root problem, though, is an inefficient heart.

By conistently running for sustained distances (a few miles or so), your heart gradually becomes stronger and therefore more efficient at pumping blood. So, in order to be able to run longer without getting tired, you have to practice running progressively longer and longer distances.

DON'T start too quickly, but build up slowly, starting with maybe a mile a day 4 times per week and building no more than a mile every 1-3 weeks. After a few months (or maybe even weeks), you will start to notice that running longer distances will be less challenging, a direct result of your increased lung and heart efficiency and capacity.

That said, being able to sprint explosively, when in conjunction with the ability to run long distances during a game, is an amazing asset to your soccer ability! Additionally, if you're over 12 or so, weight lifting still has great benefits, like helping your body burn excess fat, stabilizing your running, and toning your muscles to be more strong and efficient, so don't forget to do that too (just in addition to, not instead of, a distance running program).

Have an amazing season of the BEST SPORT ON EARTH!!! =)

Are you talking about that sport that's essentially a wimpy offspring of rugby? Plus, Wayne Rooney, dider drogba, emile heskey, and Titus bramble would murder half of your (gay) football players. I'd put my money that you're an ignorant h*mo from the south, that's never played the real football. Also, soccer players are fitter, so most of your overly obese tight-ends would collapse after a 30 second sprint. Why do you think a normal american football game takes like 4 hours. Keep stocking up on those Big Macs :) American Football is just liked because of the airhead cheerleaders you have. Also, you guys call yourselves world champs and incredibly tough at this sport because no one cares enough to play such a Neanderthal sport. "Why don't you learn a little about the game, then criticize it?" I hope you see the irony in that, dumb@ss. Edit: I really doubt you do, otherwise you wouldn't be posting such a down syndrome question.

Do not run too fast, coz it will exhaust u quickly. Run and/or jog for at least half an hour morning and/or evening daily.
[Running half an hour morn 7 eve is best, though]

Try running with ur mouth closed; SHOULD HELP
