well i have power going into my shed. it goes straight into a recepticle and from the recepticle it goes to a switch which controls the light inside the shed. i have installed floodlights on the outside of my shed but could not add the new switch correctly. i have everything needed just don't know what wire to connect where. i know the floodlights are wired correctly cause i followed the diagram. i just can't figure out the switch. the power is running off a 15amp circuit and it is 120v. i need the help so please do what you can.

All a switch does is open a circuit like cutting the wire. For safety purposes a switch can only be placed in the hot wire of the circuit (black usually). So you need to put the switch somewhere between the constant hot wire feeding the room and the lighting. Wire the neutrals and grounds together and connect each side of the cut black to one of the screw terminals of the switch. Close everything up and viola!

Are you putting the switch for the flood light in the same box as the other switch or some where else?
