They are tiny blood vessels in the lungs. They help the lungs absorb oxygen. Why?

Arterioles are smaller than arteries and larger than capillaries. When the arteries branch smaller and smaller, they become the arterioles. They carry oxygenated blood away from the heart and out to every part of the body.
