My faves are:
Stephanotis floribunda - very fragrant, white flowers on a semi-climbing plant: usually trained around hoops etc.
Some of the citrus species are ok, and all have beautiful scent
eg. Citrus mitis Tree - Calamondin Orange, dwarf, good as a houseplant. If you have more room, consider a larger type, such as a lemon.
Gardenia jasminoides - creamy to white flowers and heavily scented.
Hoya carnosa - unusual waxy type fragrant flowers.
Many hybrid orchids don't smell, having lost their smell during breeding. The following are relatively easy and smell wonderful:
* Phalaenopsis Caribbean Sunset variety: 'Sweet Fragrance'
* Phalaenopsis ‘Liodoro’ - I love the Freesia type fragrance from
this. Usually available easily in Europe, probably about £15.
Dwarf, lovely orchid.
Jasminum Polyanthum is the best variety of Jasmine for indoor cultivation, again with a lovely scent. Widely sold at garden centres. Make sure you don't buy a garden variety, as these will not do well indoors.
Use bulbs where available. Many of the dwarf species narcissus (daffodil) family have good scents. Eg. Narcissus 'Grand Soleil d'Or'
Plus hyacinths, as others have recommended.
Freesias can be grown in pots outside and brought in, whilst in flower. Plant bulbs or seeds in springtime.
Houseplant Nots :
Sweet peas are not suitable for growing indoors but wonderful
as fragrant cut flowers.
Non-scented plants.
Otherwise, I use alot of plants for their foliage structure and colours as well as other plants that have good flowering periods and are showy. Kentia and Parlour Palm types of palm are good evergreen plants that are distinctive and showy.
Good luck! Rob

Hyacinths are lovely and beautifully scented - but it's the wrong time of year to plant those - they need to be planted in about September. Other than that there are loads - orchids are quite stunning and last several months in flower; amaryllis are lovely and have large flowers; indoor jasmine smells beautiful. If you buy an orange plant, they smell absolutely gorgeous when the blossom is out and it last for quite a while before the fruits form.

Indoor Jasmine plants are wonderfully scented, and they have pretty pink buds that turn into white flowers.

I like my tall white lilies- but I have to cut the stamens out to prevent sneezing and pollen stain. They are very beautiful, and scented.
Hyacinths give a lovely scent indoors, though mine are outdoors this year.

I love orchids and roses, they are really colorful, but one is dangerous, and one is that one that has a time line, but you should get spring flowers to plant. of course, Im not sure if they can grow inside.
