First of all, congratulations for all your achievements. It sounds like you have persevered in spite of your profound challenges. I think it's wonderful that you are planning to go to college.

Your question seems to indicate that you struggle with writing since it contains multiple errors in spelling and syntax. I am concerned that your personal essay may also have been plagued by errors and that is sometimes enough for a school to overlook a promising student.

I suggest that regardless of where you end up going to college, you get some help with your writing. You no doubt have wonderful things to say, but if the reader gets tripped up with faulty writing, your message may be lost. Writing is an important skill for college and for life.

I also had some life challenges to deal with. I was extremely poor and had to struggle as a single mother to raise my son and go to college. I began at a community college, transferred to U.C. Berkeley, and eventually earned my Master's degree.

If you do not end up getting into your top choice of school, try not to see it as a setback but as an opportunity to continue to improve and learn.

I wish you the best of luck!

Congrats. I'm amazed UCD took you.

If that's the case, then Irvine's certainly not out of the question. Just hope you get good news for UCI and UCLA.

Screw Riverside. If you got into UCD, no reason to go to Riverside. Riverside's got basically all the negatives of UCD, but none of the positives.
