I too am a model figured girl and I gained only 16 pounds through my entire pregnancy... 10 of those pounds in the 8th month, and my son was born 8 lbs 12 oz. The doctor wasn't worried b/c he knew I was eating and I wasn't worried b/c I knew I was eating. DO NOT stuff yourself with McDonald's and junk food like ppl have recommended above. That can lead to pre-eclampsia and possibly gestational diabetes which can be even more harmful to you and your baby. It's okay every now and then, but do not diet on it in order to put on weight. Simply keep a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses, multigrain crackers, etc in your pantry and eat when you are hungry! My favorite food during pregnancy was cereal. I couldn't get enough of it. As long as you are eating healthy and when you are hungry, your baby will be fine.

Go and buy Ensure. It's a drink that nursing homes give older people who don't want to eat. It's basically like drinking a meal. I used to be under weight and would drink one a day as a snack - not a meal. I'd usually have one around 2 or 3 in the afternoon. Try and eat a little something every two hours - even if it's a banana or yogurt - piece of fruit. Keep snacks with you throughout the day.

Before my second pregnancy i had gained about 15lbs and during the pregnancy i only gained about 5lbs too. My doctor didnt worry so much because i had gained weight prior to falling pregnant which is unusual for me. As long as you are eating healthy and are feeling healthy, dont worry, just make sure you are taking your multi vits. You may lose weight but your baby still gains weight. Think of your baby like a parasite, lol, it will still get all the good stuff it needs, so you will suffer before your baby does. If you feel great and the baby is growing at a normal rate then dont worry. Every person is different and your specialists only want you to fit into the GUIDELINES of what they think is healthy.

what did the nutritionist suggest? are you able to take and keep down your prenatal vitamins? Do you eat as much as you should? some girls are small up until close to the end of the pregancy and have healthly babies. if you can still eat without vomiting. try to snack in between meals. ask the doctor or nutrionist if taking ensure is okay, its a supplement used for those who miss nutrients due to poor eating habits or those who don't eat (normally elderly people). Sometimes it's giving with meals it's like a shake. Or try the regular ole let me eat everything in sight. but you still want to be healthly.

well, just make sure that you take your prenatals, eat your fruits and veggies, I've heard if you drink milk every day that it helps balance out fat, try eating a extra 'something' for the baby every day (this could be a extra serving of pasta, or a extra bite of ice cream, if you simply can't eat extra try drinking full fruit juices with pulp, no sugars) try not exercising soo much but make sure you get outside for at least 15 minutes in a day. stop worrying about how much you weigh and worry more about you and the babies nutrition.

I had the same problem with each of my kids. (I have three.) Eat healthy foods but small meals every couple of hours. Don't try to eat big meals. Don't eat junk, it'll help you get fat but won't help your baby. Try fruits and vegetables. Any fruit or vegetable that you love eat a lot of. If you have a fear of getting fat and that's stopping you from eating right, talk to your doctor about it. But also relax. Good luck.

Just make sure you eat balanced meals. Unless you are suffering from an eating disorder you should be ok. I had morning sickness so bad (all day every day for 9 mos.) that I lost weight, but I had some to spare. My kids were aok.

Might be just another one of those myths, but I was always told stuffing yourself with cheeseburgers and chips helps you put on weight.
Try it, and if not stay skinny. Someone might need a rake.
