Here Here! This was never meant to be a democracy, but a constitutional republic. Read the federalist and antifederalist papers to get an idea of what our founders thought of democracy. They bickered over the ratification, but both sides agreed, as do I, that democracy sucks! "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well armed lamb contesting the vote" -Benjamin Franklin

Democracy IS the American vernacular. We are the shining light of freedom and representation of the masses, and no nation before and no nation again, will ever demonstrate the amazing achievement, camaraderie, ability and compassion that the democracy born in 1776 has enabled for 230 years.
God Bless our United States and the democracy we uphold.

"Democrats want to take away the Republican's right to vote"????? Oh come on, that is so damn pathetic and whiney. How long are you going to play victim here?
Until the writ of Habeas Corpus is re-installed and the Patriot act revoked, "Democracy" is surely in danger of being lost and scrapped from the American system.

America hasn't been a democracy since the electoral college was installed. We've been a republic.
Your general idea is accurate, but there is still time (and firepower) to keep it from becoming a reality.

Why? We elect people, they serve, we decide whether to re-elect them or not.
