my fish has a red bump on it's side what should i do we him/her

That could be anything frm a very easy to cure infection to a parasite to an impossible to cure tumor. Need a little more info:

What kind of fish?
How big is the bump? (compare it to something... pinhead, pencil eraser...)
How long has he bump been there?
Has it change since you first saw it, if so how?

I'll watch this question and wait for the info and we'll see what we can do for your fish

it really depends on your fish. If its a tumor it will be really big and red sticking out of the fish. Check your water conditions and look for parasites. If you fish happens to die. Take out all the water and everything else from the tank and wash it off thorougly so as to kill the parasite.

That happend to my fish once-It died shortly after! Sorry- I know what your going though!

Maybe it is a sore of some sort don't try asking yahoo people try your vet even if they don't dofish
