I would have to agree. They beat supposedly the greatest college team (2005 USC) in their own backyard.
That Rose Bowl game was the greatest college football game I have ever seen!

Remember that SC team that beat Oklahoma 55-19? That team had a much better defense than the SC team Texas beat. After NFL defections and graduations SC's defense was a shell of it's '04 greatness. Texas would not have beaten that SC team. Since you'll ignore any answer that doesn't say "Longhorns rule!" I list these for the rest of us. For your consideration:
'04 Trojans
'01 'Canes
'00 Sooners
'99 'Noles
'95 Huskers
'92 Crimson Tide
'91 'Canes and Huskies
Undefeated and dominant champions all. I'll pick the '04 Trojans but games are won on the field not the stat sheet. A playoff featuring these teams would produce a classic or two for sure.

I would say the best ncaa football team off all time is close between Notre Dame, USC, and Ohio State. It's a very tough decision. They all have 7 Heisman Trophy winners. Notre Dame has 8 national titles, USC has 7, and Ohio State has 5. So with that I would pick Notre Dame. Also Notre Dame has produce many players that have done well in the NFL, especiall Joe Montana.

Any team with Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart is great. But the greatest of all time? It's debatable.But I'm saying the Longhorns of 2006 because they dethroned the mighty Trojans.

usc 2004 they were amazing and no one could hang with them they had bush, lienart, lindell white, jarret and a huge offensive line and a fast defense. its got to be them hands down
