im buying a 3000gt sl 1994 and i wnat to know if the 1991-1993 engines will fit in the engine bay with little to no modifications.

i agree with the guy about the VR-4 engien but when it comes to the original motor yes it is as symple as unbolt and bolt on but its better to investigate on the wireing harnes to see if they are the same!

The late 92 and up have a better bottoend(4bolt/forged crank)91-92 uses a crank angle sensor on cams and 93-up uses crank sensor (I use the 1g setup vs 2g as its adjustable)better imo! usually 2g motor brings a little more $ than 91-early 92's do(but worth it if its for a Vr4) also a Vr4 uses a lower compression pistons(due to turbos)not a good idea for base/Sl(blocks are the same)well u can use a vr4 block in all just not other way around due to extra oil lines!

Yes. I'm pretty sure they still used the same engine. But the VR4 engine you would have to change the wiring harness, ECU, and a bunch of other parts, probably more work than it's worth.
