Yes, it does make a sound! Just because nobody is there to hear it, doesn't mean that the sound never occurred. That's kind of like saying if a power plant exploded, and you couldn't hear it because you were on the other side of the world, does it still make a sound? Yes! Sound waves were released into the air, they just didn't go far enough to reach a person's ears.

Technically, no. Since sound is vibration reaching someone or something's ears, and we're assuming there are no ears around, no sound occurs.

Besides, it doesn't really matter, because if a tree falls and nobody is around to hear it, nobody is around to care. ^_^

if it makes a sound when you are there, then I am sure it makes a sound when you are not. really want to know....set up a recorder.
