Oh you guys are hilarious.

It's not a straightforward mapping, and there's a couple of ways you can do this.

You COULD say a 4.0 is the highest you could get, which would equate to 100%. Then you'd have the following mapping:

4.0 - 100%
3.0 - 75%
2.0 - 50%
1.0 - 25%
0.0 - 0%

Since you have an 82.745%, you would do the following (I'm not going to type out the intermediate steps):

4 - ((100-82.742)/(100-75)) = 3.3098 = 3.31

By the standard 4 point scale, that is a clear B+

However, if you go by:

90% - 100% = A
80% - 89% = B
70% - 79% = C
60% - 69% = D
<60% = F

... then it's different, because here anything under 60 is an F. Therefore, by inspection around 85 would be a straight B, 87 or higher would be a B+ and 83 or lower would be a B-; which on a 4 point scale is a 2.7 GPA.

So the REAL answer is that it's impossible to tell without an understanding on how the 82.75% was calculated, and how the university suggests you map to the 4 point system.

Alright, I admit to sucking at math, but by my calculations, no one got it right yet.

4.0 = A, 3.0 = B, 2.0 = C.

A- = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, etc.

Well, a 83% is a B-. A B- is lower than a B. So, that should mean it's lower than a 3.0. So, I'd calculate it out to somewhere around 2.85 or so.

82.745 = 3.31 GPA

good lord doesn't anyone do math any more

no one got this right yet .. wow linkin you do suck at math don't ya .. ever hear of %

100 - 90% = A 4.0

89% - 80% = B 3.0

79% to 70% = C 2.0

69% to 60 D = 1.0

59% to 0 = 0.0

so a overall % of 82.745 = 3.31 GPA

thats about a 3.0. Somewhere around 3.1 or 3.2 (out of 4)

around a 3.1-3.2

But that doesn't account for possible weighting in honors or AP classes.
