What a big headed know all, he has done zilch in the music world, yet he tries to make out that he's gods gift. But to who? I doubt if he coulld ever play a a guitar or sing, but he seems very good at criticising those who try. His only claim to fame that I have ever heard about, is his sarcastic comments about contestants on a t.v. show. But we know its all hype and a forgone conclusion, except for the unwise millions who still have nothing better to do whilst lying on the couch aand spending money on fixed dialups. He is so stupid he thinks he is better than Bruce Springstein, well o.k. stupid simon lets see you even enter the charts? dream on, try a real job, McDonalds or shelf stacking, if your up to it of course. Its only my pennysworth, but if you knock something , should you not at least try it first? What do you people out there think?

O.K. then, how many records has he made?. Did you know he existed before X factor?. We all know terrible artists, but the gentleman in us stops us from ridiculing them, thats of course if we have good manners and a sense of fair play. No matter how bad your act is, you still need balls to get up there and do it. It would have been kinder to tell them to go away and practise a little more, rather than pull faces , laugh, and make derisory remarks, they are still people with feelings and aspirations. the man in my opinion is an asshole.

Well deary me I have opened a can of worms, this well heeled geezer seems to have brainwashed a lot of zombies. So he's made millions dishing up ready made tripe like one reply stated, a certain beckham, the town crier he's called round here. she also suggested he inflicted his spouse on us. Well hooray, we all know about her expensive attempts at returning to the stage. Others seem to suggest I was a non show winner, sorry ! at 64 years of age I am still a good musician but not what they need on X factor. anyway I'm too busy with my engineering. I still stand by my statement that the fellow is rude, insensative, and seems to have the musical skill of a frog. How on earth can you judge someones abilities, when you have no known abilities of your own. Sure, give me enough cash and I will give you a group to please everyone, then I could call myself a successful agent or whatever. But I prefer to be just an engineer who twangs a few strings, when the lads are in town. Be nice its free.

Daddy got him the job, daddy was a record publisher, so even though Cowell says he started at the bottom and worked up, he couldn't have done it without daddy. He doesn't spot talented musicians, he spots people who will sell records, so they either have to appeal to teenage girls or gay men - so in other words look good. Thanks to autotune and computer technology they don't even have to sing. Stop teenagers and school kids watching this garbage and Simon Cowell would disappear - because his audience are of an average age of 11 to 15. If you are older and you fall for him then you must be terminally stupid.

Personally, I like his approach.
People with zero-talent as musicians who think they're the next big thing need to be told they're wasting everyone's time. I no longer watch the X-Factor because there weren't any acts I was interested in in the last series but from what I could see Simon was the one person who actually knew what he was talking about. I wouldn't say he came across as big-headed, just no-nonsense and sensible. And I think you'll find he did really quite well before ever appearing on television.
I'm also wondering if this question is a result of the fact that you auditioned recently and he told you (truthfully) that you were rubbish.

do no longer you think of it could be uninteresting if he did no longer do all that? he's taken under consideration one of the foremost motives I watch The X element (truthfully, I watch that teach by way of fact of Cheryl yet by no ability concepts), American Idol and Britain's have been given skills. He DOES teach sympathy while he in actuality hurts human beings. even with the undeniable fact that, some human beings could learn. in the event that they are crap, he will say they crap so they won't save happening in existence questioning they're going to be this staggering singer just to be overwhelmed afterward in existence. Simon is a legend. He would have 3 shows to do each and each 12 months, yet they are all so sucessful there is not any element in combating them. i like Simon! =D

Simon never claimed he could sing or that he was a singer. He is a producer. He doesn't sing, he finds singers and gets them to put out records. I don't know for sure, but he seems to be pretty good at what he does. His opinion may not match yours because you are thinking about who is the best singer based on your taste in music. Simon is thinking about who has the best overall package, voice, personality, look, style, etc. to sell to a certain demographis. Simon can be a little rude at times but I respect him for giving his honest opinion.

You've got to be kidding me. You're as bad as the people that say to him "you don't know music, let's hear you sing"...first of all his is not only a producer but ownes a huge record label. He created the band Il Divo and the man picks out talent. that's what he does. Most of the money backing the record contract for the winner of American Idol is out of his pocket. No, he's not going to want someone that may not sell records to win.
Put together a real though and get your facts straight before you speak of something you obviously know nothing about. WTF does Bruce Springstein have to do with anything?

I have to point out that he has earned millions from working in the music industry so he must be doing something right to get that far ahead. But I don't particularly like him, though I do have to say I agree with him more often than not on shows like X Factor, Pop Idol and American Idol...

I think you should watch "American Dreamz" with Hugh Grant doing a lovely turn as him, and then you will have had a good laugh at his expense for 120 mins and it won't bother you any more...
M : )
Myself, I have nothing against S.C. , I just don't watch those kinds of shows( except for the 1st B.B, and Strictly Ballroom and the Ice Skating one, that's pretty much all......)

Simon Cowell is the only one to tell the contestants on the X-factor, the truth, when they can't sing - unlike the other two!

Simon reminds me another British judge Piers Morgan from "America's got talent". They both are very blunt, but down to the point. I personally do not like his way of judging but I still remember that he was a manager of "Spice Girls" and he is a manager of Victoria (Posh Spice) and her husband David Beckham, the one who just signed 250 million dollars contract with US soccer team. He "cooks" millions and apparently is good at it.
