I have made sure nothing is muted, checked all the connections from my speaker to my computer over and over & restarted my computer numerous times. any other suggestions on what to look for?!

your sound drivers are probably corrupted, you will need to reinstall them from the disc that came with the pc called drivers and utilities or similar, if you dont have the disc go to the manufacturers website and download them there

First check a different pair of speakers on your comp. If it doesnt work than ist you computer reinstall the drivers or try and get usb speakers because it could be on the motherboard. If the speakers do work than that means you need new speakers the old ones could have a wire loose.

Try - make sure the mute is not checked AND the volume slide bar is up. Also check other settings in this window.

Check for incoming supply. Try other speaker if you have. Check also for sound card. Any switch on your speaker not turn on?

Go to control panel... sounds and check to see if the computer volume is turned up... if it's not that, then maybe you need to reconfigure your sound card... if you have Windows XP, try taking your PC back to an earlier restore point... should reload your sound card settings !

Are these built in? Try them on something else like an iPod for example and see if it works.

Have you cheaked the 'wave' settings on your sound settings? that should be the problem.
