We are all human. We tend to focus on the negative. We are blessed to even be alive, yet we can dwell on the bad things that are going on. The Israelites did the same thing. One day, God was parting the Red Sea for them, the next, they were complaining that they didn't have enough food. It's the human way.

Even though you are blessed you can still be depressed. Depression is a chemical imbalance and also hereditary. But you have the choice to get out of that "funk" or seek professional help(not necessarily medication.)

Many people get depressed when they are thinking too much about themselves. They turn inwards and get discouraged by what they see.

Perhaps you are not really thinking of your blessings but are still thinking too much of yourself.

Turn outward. Do some good for others. Keep busy with charitable works. But most of all, call on God and meditate on what He has done for you. Say thank you and ask what you can do for Him.

It may not be helpful for you to criticize yourself for being depressed.
Material blessings have litle or no bearing on whether a person gets depressed...more likely, you are in need of medical help in the form of antidepressants and/or a therapist with whom you can share you more serious feelings and concerns.
Please do love yourself enough to seek help.
Good luck

you can be cursed: Maybe you think you are blessed but not_ that can be your curse, but I do not think that this is the explanation of your problem.

Probably you do not have a goal, you are not doing the things you really want. Maybe you have the things other people want but you do not want it, or maybe you do not know how to use the things which you have. The other option is maybe you are greedy.

The emotions seem to have a life of their own - irregardless of what the brain knows.

Sometimes it's a chemical imbalance. Perhaps speak to your doctor and see if you could use some re-balancing meds.

Sometimes it's the ones who are closest to perfection who seem the most tormented, because they are so close yet still feel as though they come up short. Some of the most talented & intelligent people I've met are the hardest on themselves. They set impossible standards that can't be met. Other people who are nowhere near perfection don't feel any pressure to strive for it because there's it's not something they expect to reach and they don't even care.

The key to happiness isn't to be perfect. I guarantee that even if you reached that pinnacle, it would not make you happy. No amount of riches would be enough. No number of blessings would be enough to fill the void. The key to happiness is: TO LOVE YOURSELF! It sounds deceptively simple but for many of us, it's the hardest thing in the world to achieve. If you don't love yourself then you will always be negative, will never feel good enough, will never be happy. If you learn to love yourself, to go easier on yourself, to appreciate your value as a human being (not based on what you do or what you have but just who you are) then you will be happier.

I used to be very negative. I hated myself. I was a straight A student & won several awards & medals but never felt good enough. Everything that I did I had to be the best, but it still didn't make me feel any better. Finally I learned to cut myself some slack! I felt pride for my accomplishments but I realized that I don't have to be the best to be worthwhile. I gave myself permission to make mistakes. I decided to take risks and give up control in some ways. Perfection is paralyzing. It prevents you from really living because you're too afraid of failing or not being good enough. Once you learn to like yourself (self help books, positive affirmations & just taking better care of yourself help) and think positive it has a snowball effect. Good things start to happen in your life. Your confidence builds. You see how beautiful life can be.

The greatest blessing you can have is to be good to yourself. To recognize your blessings, accept your weaknesses without judgement, without feeling bad. We are all unique with our own gifts to give the world. Go after your dreams. Whatever you like to do, go for it. Be who you are & enjoy life.

Happiness is a choice. It's an uphill battle for me, but I'm working on it!

I'm not saying to give up on striving for excellence. Challenge yourself. Push yourself to be the best in your chosen field. Just don't beat yourself up. Don't forget to have fun. Don't forget that you're human & can make mistakes. Life is a journey to be enjoyed not just a destination to be reached. Make the most of each day, every step of the way. Perfection is overrated anyway. Be pleasantly imperfect. You are beautiful just as you are.

Maybe because you dont have love. U have everything physically but not emotionally. I dont know, as humans we ALWAYS want more, we never have enough. Maybe you are temporarily spoiled! lol, take away some of your most precious things yourself, then you will realize how thankful u are for them. good luck.
