Anyone know how to use Excel to find difference of two numbers in % form??

I am doing homework for my Excel class and it says to calculate the percent change from 1992 to 2003 and then format the column of values as a percentage with one decimal place. Then it shows this formula 2003-1992/1992 yet when I input that it comes up as only 1% which i know is wrong. This is part of the diagram below.... PLEASE HELP!!

(2003-1992)/1992 DOES = 1% if you are using the years for your math. What the instructions are telling you is...

Subtract value in the 1992 column from the value in the 2003 column then divide that by the 1992 value. This will give you the percentage change during the period. For example the period change for Baseball would be 11.3%.

How to write the formula:
(If you assume that the year is in Row 1 and the sport is in Column A....)

In cell D2 type the following formula
=(C2-B2)/B2

Then, you just format the cell as a percentage.
