I'm curious cause the weather here in Cali is getting warmer each day, but at the same time I don't want to walk barefoot through the security check points while milions and milions of people have walked through and stepped through the same spot I'm sure my barefoot will land on and who knows what kind of bacteria is living on Airport floors.

I usually travel in sandals too and still have to remove them at airport security checkpoint. I was in CA last January and it was no exception - coming & going - remove footwear!

I understand about your concerns re: bacteria & all that; in fact, there was already a news report about it. There are some proposals to address these issues but I don't think they have been adopted.

You might want to bring a small bottle of anti-bacterial lotion (I do believe lotions are allowed as carry-on again) to clean your feet before putting on your sandals again. I have actually seen some ladies doing this.

Happy Travels!

so if this is an issue then just why not wear shoes and socks to travel in..do you plan on sitting on the plane where who knows how many germs, and breath the air in the plane that is also full of germs...and its not like you walk from terminal to terminal barefoot,it's maybe a couple feet from one side of the conveyor belt to the other...

You can still wear socks, but any type of shoe needs to go through the X-Ray to see if there is anything hidden in the sole.

Stop being Obsessive Compulsive and just take your shoes off. Bacteria is a good thing believe it or not! What do you think Yogurt is made of?

YES YOU WILL HAVE TO TAKE THEM OFF
MAY I SUGGEST YOU TAKE ANTI BAC SOAP AND WASH YOUR FEET BEFORE YOU PUT YOUR SANDALS BACK ON.
