Great car,I have an 06 G6 GTP.Its a great car awesome looks and great performance.Since you have a family the regular GT sedan would be a great choice. It has 5 star crash test ratings, and the option of side impact air bags adds to the safety of the automobile. It also has Anti Lock Breaks and Traction Control standard on the GT.Which makes it more stable in slippery conditions such as snow and etc. This is the first Pontiac I've owned and now I'm hooked.I'm now getting a GTO but I'm keeping my G6 as my daily driver. You won't be disappointed.

Hyundai! Don't make me barf on my keyboard...
The G6 is the only car with a real 5 year / 100,000 mile powertrain warranty (that doesn't expire if you go 1 mile over your oil change interval). It should give you good service.
If you are looking for more than a toaster (you know, an appliance that just gets you to where you're going), Pontiac has sporty styling and good power, as well as great gas mileage. And right now it gets another $1,000 in upgrade bonus cash. That's right, $1,000 customer cash, plus $1,000 bonus cash - or take the bonus cash and 0% financing. It's a good time to buy!

As a Grand Am owner who loves his car, i must say, Pontiac did a great job of replacing it. The g6 is a good solid car.

Pretty nice. Also check out the Buick LaCrosse, you can get the 3.8 V6 in the Buick, that is one really tough and dependable motor. But the G6 is pretty cool looking.

I don't own one, but rent them quite a bit. I like it a lot, looks nice, good interior room, enough power to get you where you are going, without spending tons on gas.
But like the last answer, I have another idea for you. Look at the Hyundai similar model. I think it is the Sonata. 100,000 miles drive train warranty, 60,000 mile bumper to bumper. And also a nice car.
