It's common sense in one of its most basic forms:

if a certain group of people preach hate and kill your people, won't you look at that certain group of people and say

hey, that certain group of people hate and kill my people. Maybe we should be more suspicious of this group to help protect my people.

duh?

How would you identify a Muslim? For example, would you profile Lisa Hallaby, the American-born, blue-eyed former queen of Jordan? Or the rich, dashing former captain of Pakistan's cricket team and great humanitarian Imran Khan? Or the frail American icon Mohammed Ali?

What does a Muslim look like? They come in all colors, sexes and nationalities.

Perhaps everybody should be profiled. Have a chip inserted into our brains so that they know what we're thinking when we think it, even. Not a bad idea - what about it? That might have saved the life of Jean de Menendez, the Brazilian Christian who was profiled because he "looked Muslim", i.e. had brown hair and eyes.

Racial profiling is based on the assumption that members of certain ethnic groups are disproportionately more likely to be involved in certain criminal activities which is racist. If this practice is widely entrenched or officially sanctioned, it also follows that members of non-targeted groups can also expect less police scrutiny

If you want any kind of life expectancy you had better be profiling at all times.

However, there is a certain element of my party that would gladly hand the keys of the Country to our enemies if they promised us no harm.... They just can't understand that some people are just plain evil and can't be reached at any level. One would be wise to identify evil doers and keep an eye out for them.

You are looking for a common sense answer, and the points you made are making sense.

During W.W. ll, there was profiling of certain groups who were the enemy.

Today, it's totally different.

We have "political correctness", telling us that everyone is the same.

We also have an economy that needs to have a military for the sake of having a military (for reasons I can't understand), when in reality, America has the capability to dispatch enemies with accuracy and immediacy...but a prolonged, drawn out conflict with the title of "War on Terrorism" seems to be the one thing the economy wants to keep things going.

America's dependence on foreign oil gets it tangled up with unknown enemies with two faces...one face says we will trade you for our oil, the other face says we will send some of our people to blow themselves up with the money you pay us for the oil.

The only way out I can see is a determination to be self sufficient with a whole new array of newer technolgy energy sources...and leave the enemies to fight among themselves.

Write your Congressmen and Senators now, and tell them you are fed up with hearing about our young and brave being used as decoy ducks in an endless pursuit of madness...when it all can be done with technology and with resolve.

I don't know why. It would make sense to look closer at the nationality of people.

I like you!!!!! It's true Islamic terrorists, the main threat of today, are Muslims. Maybe if we show Muslims we aren't going to bend to them and profile them all, it's force the "moderate" Muslims to put pressure on the nutjobs with Kalashnikovs.

big·ot (bĭg'ət) Pronunciation Key
n. One who is strongly partial to one's own group, religion, race, or politics and is intolerant of those who differ.

duh? Why only Muslims? Why not all non-Christians? And why not make foreigners have a strip search? And how the F*@# are you going to prove they are Muslims?! HAHAHAHA.

Because the lunatic fringe and the ACLU are more concerned with their right to smoke dope and bad mouth our country than to keep us all safe....

Ya, don't harass towel head at the airport... but, yes, lets do a random strip search on grandma in a wheel chair on her flight back to Kansas from visiting her grand children in Florida.... Cause that's fair and unbiased.

Not all of them hate us, but enough of them do that it is wise and would save many American muslims to stereotype.
