Get away from the mainstream. I love to listen ambient music. It includes artists from all around the world such as Phutureprimitive, Bluetech, Urchin and Sounds From the Ground, to name a few. Some call it audio art for the mind. It's artistic, creative, and it beats all the modern day monotony. You can chill or dance or even study to ambient music. Give it a try on XM 82 or goto radioio.com and listen online.

dashboard is cool...but you have to get the places you have come to fear the most. it's the best album.

go get into jimmy eat world's clarity. you'll love it.
beck's guero
anything by gorillaz is excellent.

most of the new stuff out right now sucks. including some of the stuff you listed. how old are you? i'm curious. and what part of the country do you live in? are you in the part that still thinks emo exists?

I don't know anything by Dashboard Confessionals, but I can sugest that you go for something you never heard of. Like have you heard of Daft Punk(techno), Bowling for Soup, Busted, Common, or Creed. Most of those are technoy and rock. But I love to listen to them and there is so much more out there. Its up to you, whats your favoriate flavor of music?

well, the fray and all american rejects are cool. go outside your genre. as far as rock, i also like fall out boy, panic! at the disco, meg & dia, daughtry, my chemical romance, evanescence, and i even heard linkin park was coming back out in a month or two! but other artists i like that aren't really rock are lil'wayne, young joc, lil boosie, jibbs, beyonce, shikira, gym class heroes, kirk franklin, fat joe, rich boy, pretty ricky, corbin bleu (seriously), and a lot of other artists. i even go old school and listen to swv, temptations, tupac, aaliyah, tlc, aerosmith, areatha franklin, jennifer holiday, and other classics. from the late 60s to 90s. just try out different things.
