Without bragging (as if it were) it seems insulting to even begin to contemplate how asinine the question is. I watched the shows, never even struggled with a single answer, and got them all right. But I assure you someone like me wouldn’t get on the show because it is staged.
It appears as if FOX is forcing the contestants to act stupid and be happy doing it!
Now I am not a dark, discontented with life, batman type, that has to respond to everything with an indifferent remark of the highest scientific intellect, but come on if you ask me a simple question I am going to look at you as if you are stupid. And to stand up there and try to disparage, not 1 but, EVERY condescending look that would fill me upon the sound of each and every question would be too much. And I would never use a lifeline because, without pride, I wouldn’t need their help; the little kids would sit out the whole game; I would not care less, and then all the entire audience would instantly hate me thinking ‘what a condescending jerk! Why doesn’t he let the kids help him! They are so cute.”
I mean come on!! The acting of the contestants thinking questions over is so pathetic… I don’t know which is worse: the simplistic questions that are being asked, or the pretending not to know the answers!
They are sellouts just to get paid. For someone like me: I insist on people to think, learn, and not to be the real idiots like the ones you would see on Jay Leno’s show when he sends cameras onto the streets. And it would do more harm than good to pretend not to know those answers. So to sit back and say, “hey I’ve never got one question wrong on ‘Are you smarter than a 5th grader’” I assure you, makes me feel more like an idiot just for having to answer something like that.

Just maybe. I'm being realistic here.

I've seen the show and it's fun to watch. As I was watching, they come up with categories as 4th grade Geography. Now, I realized that I was never taught that until my junior year in high school, under electives. In my elementary school, we never got taught astronomy, etc.. Basically all those subjects at the 5th grade level. Because they never taught us that. Now, I'm wondering whether California get's a different education than any other State in the US. Hmm...something to think about. Peace!

Yet again, maybe they are 5th graders that were in roll in private institutions. But it's still something I think about.

Nope. Sadly, I am observing a 5th grade class and one of the children came up to me and asked me how to find the area of something and I couldn't remember how exactly to do it so I asked one of the kids who said he did and I had to tell all the children to go to him for help.

Have to admit, now a days, probably not. If in no other areas they would run all over me as far as the computer and math goes.
