I mean working class who think they are gritty and nasty.

It isn't fine, responsibility does not have to be ugly. I'm certain we're supposed to not like the place.

Are you refering to the Bulldog? Churchill was known for his bulldog qualities: loyalty, strength, determination and tenacity, and for his tireless fighting spirit. Not such bad qualities in a leader or a dog
