A half-dozen business were knocked down but no one was hurt. Power lines were of course toppled and some windows broken. Not much else.

ELYRIA, Ohio -- Authorities say a small tornado touched down briefly last night in Elyria, damaging a few buildings.
No injuries have been reported.

An Elyria Township fire official says a few residential garages were flattened and a couple businesses were damaged.

Lieutenant Noel Vargo says the tornado hit across the street from the department, which is just west of a shopping mall.

Jim Kosarik, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Cleveland, says the tornado was weak and only on the ground a few minutes, but it would definitely be considered a tornado
because the firefighters saw it.
