It probably sounds unbelievable but I'm not very passionate about it. I will recognise a good song when I hear it but I'm not going to buy the cd. And that's because I really don't mind whether I listen to Rolling Stones or Britney Spears. How would my indifference to music strike a person who is mad about it?

No, I'm not all that interested in it. A disc better look okay sitting around after the 79th listen you know. Some music has pure flow with more than one musician making a singluar sound. Seems rare enough to find this stuff. But no, I feel absolutley no need to get loyal to some music genre.

Music, like a lot of things, isn't necessarily for everyone. I like music, a lot. Always have. Can't imagine a world without it. But, it's a free - somewhat - world. If it were me, I might be amazed at your indifference, but I have had a lot of friends who didn't seem particularly into music. There are plenty of other things you can find common ground over.

Besides, maybe you're tone-deaf or maybe you just haven't run across the music that sets your soul ablaze or makes you feel alive, yet. Just let it find you. Keep yourself open to it.

Personally, I don't really have a favorite genre of music. I did discover I tend to enjoy the darker, melancholy tunes more at this time of my life, and maybe most of my life. I like the early 'Stones, never listened much to B.S.. I like Operatic Arias. Took me a considerable time to overcome my prejudice and my lack of German and Italian language skills. But I also like Neil Young, Jackie Wilson, Emmylou Harris, Gwen Stefani, Tori Amos, The Killers, Eminem,...

There's a lot of music out there. Maybe you just haven't heard your songs yet.

Rolling Stones and Britney Spears? No wonder your passion isn't to be! I'd be reaching for the hanging rope!

I reckon that you would need to encounter some really good experiences whilst listening to some good sounds for you to appreciate it. Have you ever heard a song or tune from the past and knew who you were with or what you were doing when you last heard it? Do sounds ever "take you back"? Try it and you'll see what i mean!

I just want to let you know you are not alone. I love all sorts of music, from Queen to Mozart, but I certainly would not waste my money buying any of it.
To me good music is that which I like.

You're the opposite of me! I usually go out and buy/download songs/albums, even if I've never heard the artist before.

incomprehensible for me, l can't stop listening to music for some reason, and that is most styles , classical to punk. even when there's no music on there's a tune in my head , it's crazy for me. i suppose some people just don't feel it , they must get off on something else
