I've applied on Mar 1 of this year. I've applied at a post office and I'm leaving on May 1 will I get it in time? They said up to 10 weeks and right now There's no information on the status of my application on there website. (State Department) website.

If you did not spend the extra money for an expedited passport ... then you may or may not get it in time. Right now, with so many people applying for Passports because of the new rules, it may take longer.

I am sincerely hoping you get it ... however, in the meantime, you might contact the place you filed for it at and ask if there is anything you can do. Probably not at this point, but it doesn't hurt to ask!

it may not be in the system yet - it is taking three to four weeks to get them in the system. if not in the on-line status check by the end of the month, contact the passport center as shown below:

There was a news story on this earlier this week and it taking 10 weeks. So you may or may not get it on time. Especially if you did not file for an expedited request. So in theory if you files on march 1, it could take as long as May 10 to get it.

Eek...March 1st to May 1st is only 8 weeks.

It should arrive before then but keep your fingers crossed. My boyfriend just applied for his in February and it took about a month and a half.
