I used to have the same problem, I was always too shy and quiet, so what I did was I would hang out with a couple of friends in the evening ,or also during the day at work, instead of being in the back of the store all the time, as I work at a fast food restaurant I would interact with the Customers,as I had to. Being in the public service industry did wonders for me, now it takes my co workers most times to either tell me to shut up or ignore me when I'm talking too much lol, all in all it was the best thing for me when I had to switch jobs, best thing is to do is be yourself and who cares what other people think of you, as long as your having fun that's all that counts, now I tend to be the life of a party.

Just go ahead and say what you want to with no hesitation to your friends. Rather of saying nothing or talking less or thinking about what the person has said, go ahead and get involved in the conversation. Soon youll find how fun it is ...be sarcastic if you want but most of all remeber to be yourself, friends should like you for who you are...but these are just my tips...since i've experienced beeing very shy before

The best way is to get involved in helping others. You will be concerned about their problems, interested in talking to them and helping them. As you help others, your shyness will lessen and you will find that you are able to talk to others in all situations. Be confident in what you have to say. Instead of focusing on what you want to say about yourself, try saying or asking something about them. Make a compliment, ask what their hobbies are. As we focus on others, it then becomes easier to talk to others.

Be confident in yourself!
You've got interesting things to say to people. They will listen.
Besides, being shy is not so bad, it's certainly better than being arrogant and over-confident.
